Online Status Sanity with Moodblast

Moodblast by Circle Six Design is exactly what I’ve been looking for recently—a simple application that updates my online status for multiple sites and applications simultaneously.

Last year I got into the habit of setting my GTalk status (via Adium) to note where I happened to be at the moment since I was often traveling. Lately I’ve started using Facebook as Hong Kong Facebook usage has started to explode. So I had at least two places I was updating my “status” and though I use Skype and have a Twitter page, I wasn’t updating the status messages on either of those. It was too much of a pain to log into each application and keep them in synch. I wasn’t even going to try.

Moodblast lets me update all of those applictions simultaneously. Before moving to Hong Kong, I wouldn’t have cared about status messages. But now that I travel and work with so many different people across different timezones, I find using status messages as an easy way to let someone know where I am and what I’m doing. So if you’re trying to find me, or wondering why I’m taking so long getting back in touch with you, you can can check my GTalk, Skype, Facebook, or Twitter status.
