Impromptu Code Jam

The guys over at ThoughtWorks invited local programmers to an impromptu code jam last night. Over a dozen of us invaded a local Pacific Coffee shop and collected into groups to work on the Anagram Kata. William got a head start during the day and already worked out a Ruby and Haskell version. Since neither of us know Lua very well, we decided to see if we could figure out enough of the language to solve the problem. The solutions are linked here:

The Lua version, by the way, ran about twice as fast as the Ruby version.

Back in Pittsburgh, I helped out with the Code Dojo Greg Akins organized. It’s really cool to see similar activities running here in Hong Kong. So many thanks to ThoughtWorks for organizing this!

Update: fixed link on lua code. Thanks, Greg.
