Iarknasteina

“Iarknasteina”

“That’s what Ruby is. It means precious or holy stone in Old Norse. An English rendering might be “Arkenstone.” Thorin described such a stone as “a globe with a thousand facets; it shines like silver in the firelight, like water in the sun, like snow under the stars, like rain upon the Moon!” The same would hold of Ruby, “it shines like Pearl in regex, like Python in syntax, like Lisp under closures, like SmallTalk with its objects.” Tonight, my friend, is a night to celebrate!”

Perhaps I should look into this a little more myself! :)
