Lemons - Day 2

By Jennifer Farr on Monday, January 12, 2009

At midnight I went to bed hungry and woke up at 6am in the same state. But of course, I can’t eat. And furthermore, I have to drink four cups of salt water before I start on the lemonade. As I type, almost three cups of salt water are down. I then have to wait for the “magic” to work (did I just sugar-coat bowel movements?). Once I’m flushed, which could take up to an hour, then I can feast my eyes on a cup of lemonade.

Didn’t think I’d make it this far, did you?

So, I called my mother last night and greeted our phone conversation with “I’m hungry!” She was a big help and pumped me up with positive affirmations like “you deserve to be healthy.” I pictured Richard Simmons encouraging me. Ah…the good old 80’s.

I spent 60USD today on maple syrup, so don’t suppose that not eating will save you money.

Most of today was spent in Hong Kong central. My left lower back hurt all day, kind of like kidney pain. But I have never had kidney pain before, so I can’t pinpoint it. I went shopping to take my mind off of things but everywhere reminded me of food. I came home and Minda had made a large casserole dish of vegetable lasagna, so the house smelled wonderful. But, I’m keeping with my diet and seeing it through to day ten. Only eight more days left!
